Last month I traveled with three other CommonGround volunteers to New York City for a satellite media tour. The amazing ladies I traveled with were Julie Kenney, Kristin Reese and Katie Oltoff. A satellite media tour is when you set up in one location and do multiple interviews in one day. I was teamed up with Julie.
Prior to the interviews beginning we had our make up done for us. That was a first as I have never had anyone do my make up for me. Of course we had to take some photos on set prior to the interviews.
The interviews began and before Julie & I knew it we had completed eleven interviews. Four radio interviews and seven television interviews. It all went so fast that all I remember saying is, “I just love milk”. I am very interested to listen to that interview in particular. Another interview included Fox 8.
We were able to sneak in a little sight-seeing. The Empire State Building could be seen out my hotel window. We visited Grand Central Station, Central Park, The Today Show, Time Square, various other locations and of course we had to shop at Tiffany’s. While at Tiffany’s we came across a diamond ring that was $150,000. I asked the sales lady if it came with a milking parlor, she didn’t seem too impressed or know what I was talking about. We did however find the “farmer affordable” jewelry cases in which I was happy to make a purchase from my farmer to me! Just three short days in New York representing dairy farmers all over the United States. I hope I did a good job & will post the links on this blog post when I receive them
