Northwest Farmers Fighting Hunger

I am joining Washington Dairy Farmers, Oregon Dairy Farmers and Fred Meyer in the fight against hunger.

Many families across the Inland Northwest are unsure where their next meal will come from. In fact, 1 out of 5 children struggle with hunger. This is especially true during the summer months when children do not have access to low-income school lunch programs.

(dairy products are rarely donated to food banks)

In honor of June Dairy Month, our farm along with the Dairy Farmers of Washington, Fred Meyer and Second Harvest challenge you to donate $10 to your local Second Harvest. A $10 donation could provide up to 35 meals for local low-income families in Eastern Washington. It is simple and can be done by clicking here.

Western Washington farmers have teamed up with Food Lifeline and donations can be made by clicking here.

Oregon & Clark County WA farmers have teamed up with Oregon Food Bank and donations can be made by clicking here.

Make sure to follow along on my Facebook page & help us #fightsummerhunger!

Oregon dairy farmer, Darleen from Abiqua Acres is also participating in the Northwest Farmers Fighting Hunger! Make sure to check out her blog post on this very subject and follow along with her on Facebook.  Make sure to donate under Washington as to help me in Darleen’s challenge of Washington vs. Oregon in a little friendly competition to #fightsummerhunger.
